ACD programs are open to all members of the community, who are currently in middle school, high school or in college.
Academic and Career Development (ACD) strives to provide Tibetan youth with a comprehensive range of services to cultivate their academic and professional development. Through mentor-mentee pairing, ACD mentors will assist mentees in navigating the college application process, exploring career options, and helping build a professional network.

Meet The Team

Yangchen T. Nangpa
Yangchen has been a member of the Tibetan Association of Boston (TAB) for over 16 years. Yangchen is currently a Trial Attorney for Children & Family Law Division at the Committee for Public Counsel Services. Prior to this job, Yangchen clerked for the Justices of the Superior Court. Yangchen received her bachelor’s degree from Smith College and Juris Doctor from Northeastern University School of Law. Yangchen grew up in Hunsur, South India; she came to the U.S. at age 14 with her family. She now lives with her family in Medford. Yangchen previously served as an executive member for TAB. Outside of work, Yangchen enjoys reading thrillers, traveling, dancing, hiking, and other outdoor activities.

Tenzin Woden
Woden joined the Boston Tibetan community over two years ago when she accepted her current job as an Environmental Engineer with the Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection. She moved from Connecticut, although originally from Nepal. She is a 2015 graduate from the College of Engineering of Syracuse University. Woden strives to stay rooted in her Tibetan identity by being active within the Tibetan community and making efforts to give back to the different Tibetan community she has been a part of. Along with her sister, she began an online Tibetan Language learning initiative that grew to become Tibetan Language Class (TLC) hosting online classes every Saturday's and hosts a summer retreat every year in CT with this year being the 5th year. Woden’s interests lyes in learning different languages, watching and learning about Korean culture and other countries, volunteering and outdoor activities
